Bridging Task (Attempt at a trailer)
After watching the Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) trailer, we decided that this would be the trailer we would attempt to copy. We had to film in a variety of locations, make our own titles to match the ones already in the trailer, match our clips in perfect timing to that of the trailer and to use the same sound from the original clip.
The video shows our attempt of the trailer, including the real trailer in a small box on the left hand side. We filmed most of our trailer in school because it was an easy and accessible location. We found some of the shots quite easy to replicate however some shots that used special effects were virtually impossible to film with our location and equipment, therefore for this part of the trailer we used the original shots.

Not only did this project allow us to learn how to edit on Final Cut Pro X it also helped us explore how a trailer is built and created. We learnt from the project that trailers don't necessarily have to make sense or follow the same media principles as an opening title sequence. This is true in the fact that a trailer isn't required to be chronologically sound nor does its elements need to feature a deep story line, this is because directors don't want to give the audience too much information prior to watching the film.
