As part of our research into creating a realistic Horror trailer we looked at the typical conventions of the genre. Due to the fact that the teaser trailer needed to represent what the film would look like as a complete product we researched the key elements of film making and looked at how they worked within our genre. We found that Horror films as a whole follow a three step narrative which we'd need to try and cover within our trailer in its most basic form to ensure that the audience understood the minimal premise of the film. Furthermore, we found that the editing and shooting style of the film normally appeared as realistic as possible, rather than as though it had been filmed by a production company.
Overall, we found that to create a perfect final product, we needed to ensure that each key or micro element of the Horror genre was adhered to as closely as possible within our teaser trailer.
