Title Choices
Justification for Title Choice - Devour
Because we changed our idea, our title choice also had to change. This is because Hamelin would no longer fit with the theme of our trailer but the new title Devour would.
Devour was appropriate for the new trailer because of it's connotation to Cannibalism, our teaser trailers main sub-genre. The title is justified as it is both subtle (it could be linked to zombie genres) and relevant. We felt that the name 'Devour' gave us the ability to focus on the genre of Cannibalism widely, as it isn't too specific. This therefore gave us more freedom within our storyline.
In addition to this, Devour is also realistic as a title. Current media industry naming trends mean that horror films are currently being given one word titles - for example 'Mama' and 'Insidious'. Due to the popularity of these films, both in revenue and in audience members, we felt that it made sense to follow the trend. Also, single word titles are snappy and easier to remember.

Justification for First Title Choice
We decided that Hamelin was an appropriate name for our product. We choice this name because we wanted to, as much as we could, stick to the original idea of the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin'. Due to the budget and location restrictions we were faced with we could film anything that looked realistic enough to be the 15th century. Therefore we decided that by using just one part of the name it allowed for a little more freedom in our storyline.
Furthermore we felt that Hamelin was a good name for our teaser trailer because it worked alongside the same naming ideas as current horror releases such as Mama and Insidious. One word names are popular and common in modern society because with so many people needing to remember so much catchy one word film titles are more likely to be remembered.
