Distribution Company
A distribution company who is responsible for the marketing of the film.
Universal Studios (pictures) is an American motion picture studio owned by Comcast. Universal Pictures was founded in 1912 and has been running for over 100 years.
Universal Pictures distributed films such as Dawn of The Dead (2004) and Drag Me To Hell (2009). We were inspired by Universal because we liked the idea of it being a big distribution company, and this is shown through the logo, a spinning universe with 'Universal' floating around it. JH

Paramount, alike Universal, is an American distribution company for film and television, also founded in 1912. It is the fifth oldest existing film studio.
Paramount have distributed films like Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) and The Devil Inside (2012). We liked Paramount Pictures because it used the idea of stars forming around the text with the camera movement coming backwards revealing the mountain in the clouds, this is accompanied by the soundtrack which builds with the movement. The clouds and the mountain poking through them carries the connotations of it being an ex high standard. JH

Founded on 3rd July 1997, Lionsgate is a relatively young film distributor, however, it is considered the most successful distributor in North America and the seventh most profitable of all distribution brands. Responsible for the distribution of many big horror brands, such as Saw and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Due to the fact that Lionsgate distribute a plethora of film genres, they introduced a new horror arm in 2012; this sub-brand uses the adapted Lionsgate logo above on films. We liked Lionsgate as a distributor due to its contemporary look and feel as well as the fact that it has become so iconic within the horror and wider film industry. The adapted logo was also a strong factor because we felt that it further matched the horror theme, opposed to a standard distributor logo. DS

Originally known as Warner Brothers, now Warner Bros., they are one of the 'Golden Eight' Distribution companies. They are an American based company who form part of the wider Time Warner group.
The brand is well known for their use of a range of logo's while using the WB symbol at the centre of each. Therefore they have the ability to distribute a wide range of films to suit any theme or genre. We felt Warner Bros. were good as a distributor due to their close links, historically and contemporarily, within the horror genre. For example, they produced and distributed Doctor X (1932) which was the first horror released in colour. The fact that they would adapt their logo to match the film that they were distributing was also an attraction because it meant that they would offer a better brand identity package and link our whole product together.
